I am thankful!

I ran early Sunday morning. It was a good run despite temperatures approaching the freezing mark.

The solitude of Sunday morning, the promise of a cup of coffee, blueberry pancakes, the Sunday Times a family portrait shoot and understanding how lucky I am graced my thoughts.

Early afternoon brought weather that vacillated from rain to wet snow. Despite the weather, my spirits had not been dampened. I met Lauren and her family and we shared an amazing time walking around Goat Island in Niagara Falls as I photographed their family.

I am a social worker who loves my work, who runs and enjoys a small photography business and spending time with some really cool people. I couldn’t ask for more.

I am thankful.

  1. Love the calming simplicity of this post’s content. I’m not overtly religious, but suddenly I’m thinking God may have been onto something when he mandated Sunday as a day of “rest” 😉 Maybe not so much for the body as for the mind? I forget to focus on mental rest at times. Thanks for the reminder! And good job with the running — body in motion, mind at rest?

  2. Thank you so much for your readership and your kind, insightful comments. You are right…when my body is in motion, my mind tends to be at rest. As I approach 50, I realize the importance of taking care of myself., physically and emotionally.
