I’m going to call today a “forced relaxation day.”
I woke, walked Bandit and shortly thereafter it began to rain. Wind accompanied the rain making it just a miserable day. Raking the remaining leaves and cleaning the gutters will have to wait for a more weather appropriate day.
I read too many blogs touting how busy we are. some even wear this like a badge of honor. “I’m so busy.” “I’m too busy.” Tiring are these comments.
I did 10-hard miles on the stationary bike and as I pedaled I thought, “I’m not doing anything today.” Life’s too short. We don’t take enough time to sit back and enjoy the time we have in front of us, today, right now.
Bandit and I walk and I enjoy this time to mindfully enjoy a walk and notice the little things that many of us don’t pay attention to because, well, we’re too busy. Last nights walk was an amazing full moon.
What say the Stoics about patience? “No greater thing is created suddenly, any more than a bunch of grapes or a fig. If you tell me that you desire a fig, I answer you that there must be time. Let it first blossom, then bear fruit, then ripen.” – Epictetus
Namaste. Enjoy the time give you today because tomorrow may never come as it is not promised to you. “Let us prepare our minds as if we’d come to the very end of life. Let us postpone nothing. Let us balance life’s books each day. … The one who puts the finishing touches on their life each day is never short of time.” – Seneca
